Fresh off his blistering performance at the BET awards on June 28, in which he rapped atop a vandalised cop car, this extended version of “Alright” was released online June 30, 2015. Directed by acclaimed music video director Colin Tilley, the video extends the black and white aesthetic established in the album artwork for TPAB. It is a high concept video featuring footage of Kendrick soaring through the streets of LA, dancing crowds, children playing, and conflicts with white police officers.

The extended intro includes excerpts from “Mortal Man”, “u”, as well as an additional intro verse with Kendrick boasting about his success in 2015.
