The closing track on the second studio album from Seether. The song features Amy Lee, lead singer from Evanescence (and then-girlfriend of Seether frontman Shaun Morgan).

The song is about leaving someone behind, you know that is really painful to do. It’s about looking forward to seeing that person again and that feeling when everything is fine again.
Shaun was on the road thinking about his little daugther when he wrote the song.

It is rather remarkable that only one year later Amy and Shaun broke up, which puts the lyrics of this song in a different light. This kind of “predictive power” seems to belong to Amy as the song My Immortal and its accompanying music video is a prelude to the split with band member Ben Moody.

As with most songs that have a featuring artist, a version of the song without Amy can be found. Which is on the first Seether album Disclaimer, released in 2002. This song has almost the same lyrics, except Shaun sings the whole chorus after the first verse, instead of the two last lines as in the album version.
