RPM was first released by Slug and El-P on a singles CD called The Vapors Project, which also included the remixed version by Plex.

The Vapors Project was later re-released, also including a song by Serum & Induce.

Finally, Slug and El-P released The Vapors Project Pt.02, which was a compilation CD including various songs by Counterflow artists.

All three versions of The Vapors Project were released on Counterflow Recordings in 2002.

Note that the Plex remix is more popular than the original one, and is the version included on Random Vol. 3/Sad Clown Bad Dub 7.
