The Badlands Story Prologue was released on August 7th, 2015. It features a monologue read by Halsey over a montage of Badlands clips including from previously released music videos and new footage. The video features instrumental versions of Badlands songs. “Castle“ opens the prologue as it opens the album. The music then transitions into “Drive” and finally, “New Americana” concludes the prologue.

A typed version of the prologue, which features minor script changes is included in the Badlands box set.
