Broken Crow

Broken Crow

Reaching Quiet

Deviating from the third act, Slashed Tire Reprise’s themes of regret, bitterness, the past and relationships, Broken Crow details the cycle of people trying to leave the place they’re from and the inevitability that this cycle prevails.
Broken Crow also very heavily deals with themes of seasonal change, namely winter, and the sadness and suicidal actions brought about by these changes. It also can be either a love letter or the exact opposite of a love letter to Cincinatti, depending on how you perceive it.

Broken Crow is the final track in the third act, Slashed Tire Reprise.

Broken Crow, along with Me and the Pea Coat was redone and featured on Almost Live From Anna’s Cabin.

In 2008, Broken Crow was chosen by The A.V. Club as one of the 25 Sad Songs for Changing Seasons.

The Why? Single EP The Hollows featured a cover of Broken Crow by Nick Thorburn.

The Why? mixtape OLD DOPE (RAP TAPE) featured a redone version of Broken Crow set to the beat of Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones”
