ZHU, Skrillex & THEY.
ZHU teamed up with Skrillex and the rising L.A. R&B duo THEY., one of the many collaborations on ZHU’s guest-filled EP Genesis Series.
This song features Skrillex’s signature bassy sounds and multiple drops. ZHU adds his own sultry, melancholic vibes to the mix, along with some R&B elements from his Mind of a Genius label mates, THEY.
Skrillex told Beats 1 that this song was inspired by the strip club across the street from ZHU’s studio. Skrillex said, “What if we actually went over there and rescued one of the girls, because she’s been working there all night long?”
Drew—one half of THEY.—described how they got involved with this track in an interview with Pigeons and Planes:
ZHU was definitely the link between everyone. We were working on finishing up the first EP and Dante called me up and told me, ‘We got a new song to work on. ZHU is on it, Skrillex is on it, and if we can make something cool to add to it he might keep it.’ It was crazy because the name Skrillex didn’t really click to me at first. Honestly I was more just trying to help ZHU out and get his stuff done.
On November 9th 2015, the official music video for the song was released.
