Sampling “My Rainbow Life” by The Freak Scene; “GHOST!” is the sixteenth track featured on Man on The Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. Kid Cudi articulates some acceptance of his internal struggles and lifestyle in this track.

Cudi reflects upon his bad habits and how they could have led to his own death in the first verse; considering such a possibility with a positive resolve; determining that abstinence from substances is necessary to avoid a fatal outcome.

Presented optimistically (albeit conflictedly,) the chorus gives off the impression of Cudi accepting his vices/demons whilst simultaneously voicing his feelings of alienation to the world around him; likening himself to a “ghost.”

Addressing the way in which many people go against their parents’ beliefs in their actions, be it in the abuse of substances or any other life choices; Cudi’s second verse detachedly looks upon what leads up to a relapse and the disregard for the opinions of others. Hoping “that they understand that” he “really understands that they don’t understand” in the song’s outro; Cudi gives off the impression that he understands himself more than anyone else ever could.

Kid Cudi reversed the instrumental of this song and later created: “Dennis, Hook Me Up with Some More of This Whiskey!”
