Hello Brooklyn 2.0

Hello Brooklyn 2.0

JAY-Z (Ft. Lil Wayne)

“Hello Brooklyn” is the fourth track on Jay Z’s 2007 album American Gangster. It contains a sample from “B-Boy Bouillabaisse,” part of the suite that closed out Beastie Boys album Paul’s Boutique. It is entitled “Hello Brooklyn 2.0” because it is the spiritual child of the original “Hello Brooklyn” from Paul’s Boutique.

It is the first collaboration between Jay and Bigg D, as well as being the first official collaboration between Jay and Lil Wayne. Both artists attribute feminine, humanistic qualities to the borough of Brooklyn, weaving a romantic narrative around traditional hood landmarks.
