The title also references the 2001 science fiction movie Evolution, where the four main characters discover an alien inside a small comet that hit Earth.

While this is used to recapitulate $uicideboy$‘ typical movie reference insouciance, it is a direct interjection of Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution to Ruby’s continuation and development of their alter-egos lore in his verse. The theory says that animals change over time, which correlates with how—he reveals—his personas die, but live on as the undead.
