“All I Need” is an ode to Chris and Wale’s ride-or-die chicks, who stay by their sides through thick and thin. The track was initially teased by Wale in a now-deleted Instagram post in early 2015. Production is handled by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, and the same beat was used on K. Michelle’s December 2014 track “Miss You, Goodbye”—making it likely that the track was sold to Michelle for her album.

“All I Need” progresses from a down-tempo R&B ballad to fellow DMV natives trading rap verses. Wale’s ad-libs in the chorus also interpolate 2Pac’s November 1996 singe, “Me and My Girlfriend.”

“All I Need” marks the fifth collaboration between Wale and Chris following February 2015’s “It’s Yo Shit.”
