Ra Ra Riot started 2016 with a new single titled “Absolutely” from their album Need Your Light. The song followed “Water,” a collaboration with Rostam Batmanglij, formerly of Vampire Weekend, and carries a similar theme of escapism and rising above the mundane.

In Ra Ra Riot’s AMA on Reddit they state that the song is about the Challenger explosion.
