“Myself” is the opening track to NAV’s self-titled debut mixtape and first project. He explores the world of depression and self-consciousness, stating that he feels more like himself when he’s under the influence of drugs like lean, marijuana, and MDMA.

NAV released the song to his SoundCloud account on January 12, 2016. It appeared on his unofficial September 2016 mixtape, The Introduction. A little more than a year later, it found an official release as part of his eponymous project on February 24, 2017.

The official music video for the song was released on March 22, 2017.
