“21 Summer” is the 3rd single released off of the duo’s debut album Pawn Shop. The song describes a summer romance that the man associates with the end of his adolescence and the beginning of his adulthood as she “made a man of [him].”

The song has a dream pop, chill beat to it which would make it a great late summer song. The song is a lot different from the other singles released off of the album like “Rum,” “Stay a Little Longer,” and “It Ain’t My Fault.” But that was how they wanted it, they said to Rolling Stone:

We want to put the right foot forward and that foot is saying, this is different, we are still different.

The went on by saying that they don’t plan on making all of their singles sound the same, they wanted a different feel to each song.
