This song is a direct response to Drake’s “Summer Sixteen.” In a move that shocked hip-hop, “War Pain” was released just 15 minutes after Drake’s song. Just as he raps in this song, at the time of release, Meek was at a Sixers basketball game with Nicki Minaj.

While Meek joked that another one of Drake’s “ghostwriters” slipped him the lyrics prior to release, it’s likely the song was leaked to him by someone in Drake’s camp.

Meek’s label mate Omelly joins him on the track, attacking Drake’s street credibility.
