Basement Party is about Max’s younger life and is very truthful to his actual life. According to Max, he didn’t have confidence growing up and as such never enjoyed going with friends to clubs as he wouldn’t talk to people there. He also mentioned in an interview that because he was short in height, he didn’t enjoy going to clubs as he couldn’t see anything going on and would be stuck in the middle of people.

Because of both his lack of confidence and height, Max would be the type of “guy where the party’s at [his] house”, hence the title “Basement Party”.
