“Love Drought” is an airy and calming plea to reinvigorating a relationship riddled with trust issues and insecurities.
The song was co-written by Ingrid, a Houston rapper who was childhood friends with Beyoncé and also wrote on her self-titled album.
Love Drought was produced and co-written by Kanye West’s longtime collaborator Mike Dean, who supplied the track with a floating synth line and rich bass section. In an interview with Billboard magazine, Dean revealed the song was made two years prior to its release.
