“Deeez Nuuuts” became the first track to officially feature the 213 crew, with Warren G. featured in the infamous intro, Snoop providing supporting vocals, and Nate Dogg singing on the outro during his only appearance on the album. The intro also features an excerpt of Rudy Ray Moore’s “Chestnuts” before Dre kicks off the song.
Musician Colin Wolfe briefly spoke about what he added to the track on top of the prominent Moog sounds:
On that one, I was just vibing with the off-beat feel of Dre’s drums and came up with the bass and melody, making something funky.
In August 2015, a political candidate started running for United States President using the name “Deez Nuts.” after an internet meme of the same name was inspired by this song.
