Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?

Rod Stewart

“Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” marked Rod Stewart’s successful entry into disco, earning him his third No. 1 on the Hot 100, and was the lead single from his ninth studio album, Blondes Have More Fun.

It was written by Rod alongside his keyboardist Duane Hitchings, and drummer Carmine Appice, and produced by revered recording engineer and record producer Tom Dowd. It also interpolates the melody from Jorge Ben Jor’s “Taj Mahal” and the string arrangement from Bobby Womack’s “(If You Want My Love) Put Something Down On It”. As typical disco songs do, the lyrics are about a night out at the club, and the hunt to find someone to take home.
