Addiction

Addiction

C Dot Castro

“Addiction” is about Shy Grey talking about how the worldly vices (money, sex, drugs, alcohol) have affected his life to the point he became addicted to them. In the life of an aspiring artist who’s had a good sense of fame, these things come sooner or later, but surely you’ll want to break those addictive habits.

Before this song was released, Shy Grey was known as C Dot Castro, the RattPack member who rapped alongside Logic for many years until they had a “falling out” for private reasons. Afterwards, Castro had been silent after the releases of songs One Too and Same Life, with many fans wondering what happened. In a long (and deleted) tweet, Shy expressed his emotions and why he had been silent for a while due to being on drugs and not taking advantage of his talent and situation he was in, it can be found here:

and around the end of 2016, he announced the name change to Shy Grey, and later released this song as his debut track under the new name.
