The Belle Époque or La Belle Époque is our period in Swedish history. It is a period characterized by distrust for the politicians, war at home and madness at the ballots, new spew of hatred and classism. The hardships and failure in Sweden allowed the arts to flourish, and many masterpieces of literature, music, theater, and visual art gained recognition.
