“Brightside” is the uplifting lead single from Swedish duo Icona Pop’s anticipated third album. The LP follows 2013’s This Is… Icona Pop, which included the global smash “I Love It,” featuring Charli XCX. Icona Pop members Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo spoke with I-D about the meaning behind this song:

We wanted to write a song to celebrate our friendship. We’ve been a band for eight years now, and we’ve been through so much together, both good and bad.

Icona Pop wrote “Brightside” with Joni Fatora, Mr Rogers, and Frederic Kennett—the latter two served as producers.
