Cold Hard Floor

Cold Hard Floor

SOFT PLAY

The thirteenth track on Slaves' album Take Control, which explores the mindset of an insecure person from an outside perspective.

This person’s tendency to avoid problem solving and projecting a calm and stable image of themselves is what ultimately will lead to their lowest point, as pain, consequences and confrontations can’t be escaped from forever.

Isaac -or rather, the song’s protagonist- feels sorry for the other person and their inability to have a sincere and responsable attitude when dealing with problems. The singer, however, can see through most if not all of the lies the other person is projecting to the world around them, and the vocalist ends on a respectful but pitiful note, where the liar eventually breaks their mirage -either by self or social pressure- and collapses onto a cold, hard floor, both literally and metaphorically.
