“Empty Streets” is the third single Scandroid put out, and the first without Varien, leaving Klayton alone in the band. Varien stated on Twitter that Scandroid as additional project didn’t fit in his timeline, but that “there’s no bad blood” between him and Klayton. He then went on to release “Mirai Sekai” with 7 Minutes Dead, a similar themed EP.
Fittingly, this song describes the death of the lore character Raven who was impersonated by Varien and how Red scoures the city of Old Tokyo alone, also visible in the pixel-art lyric video. At the end of said video, he meets Aphelion (who hides all over the video), hinting at their next single with her name.
