Please Don’t Jump (It’s Christmas)

Dallon Weekes

Following the semi-annual tradition, “Please Don’t Jump (It’s Christmas)” is Dallon Weekes' third Christmas release to date. Though it is very much his style of music, the lyrics take on a much darker tone than usual – covering the topic of depression in the wintertime, and encouraging those who struggle with such issues to take care of themselves.

Describing the song on YouTube, Dallon said:

Christmas and the holiday season can bring a lot of happiness, but for some it can also bring sadness and loneliness too. The absence of family and friends seem to be more strongly felt during Christmas. I wrote this song for those who may feel lonely or depressed during the holidays.

Remember this year to tell the people in your lives how much you love and care for them. It might be exactly what they need to hear. If you’re dealing with loneliness or depression, remember that you’re not alone. Talk to someone who can help. A family member, friend, school counselor, or health care professional.

The song was accidentally released on iTunes a week before it was due to come out, meaning some quick-off-the-mark fans got a sneak preview of the song before anyone else! Luckily, Dallon saw the funny side, and joked about it in a tweet later on.
