Governed by Contagions is the first new music from At The Drive-In since 2000 and following their reunion in 2012. It was released as a free download on December 8, 2016 following a world tour.

A new album, later titled in•ter a•li•a and produced by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Rich Costey (The Mars Volta, Muse, Jane’s Addiction, Bloc Party) was announced with the release of this single.
