“Eye Know” is the fifth single from De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising. It was not released as a single in the US, but made the top 30 in several countries overseas, including a #14 peak in the UK.

Its B-side is the non-album track “The Mack Daddy on the Left.”

BBC One used an instrumental version of “Eye Know” for the Saturday’s goals portion of “Match of the Day 2” from 2004 to the end of the 2007/2008 season.

Steely Dan’s “Peg” is heavily sampled throughout the song, providing the backing beat and some backup vocals for the chorus.

The Mad Lads' “Make This Young Lady Mine” provides the sample for both the guitar and the horn heard throughout the track.

The whistling heard throughout the track is an Otis Redding sample from his song “(Sittin' On) the Dock of the Bay”

And drums from “Sing a Simple Song” by Sly & the Family Stone are also sampled in the track.
