“Ahimsa” is the fifth song on Silberman’s 2017 album Impermanence.

The song’s title means “nonviolence,” as can be seen in the song’s chorus. This principle is a fundamental virtue in Indian religions (i.e. Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism). Silberman was influenced primarily by Buddhism in the making of this album. It is believed that transgressions of this principle result in Karmic consequences.

The song’s music video expands on the narrative. In it, we see first footage of blooming flowers. Stems rising, then blossoming. Then the footage shifts to footage of nuclear explosions. A parallel is drawn between the shapes of a blooming flower and a rising mushroom cloud.
