Love of War is about a relationship falling out of love and falling apart. There is tension, resentment and hurt coming from both parties but the woman decides that it’s worth fighting for. Bow Promise began writing the lyrics to this song after deciding to give herself a writing challenge on the train. By the time she reached her destination she had written the verses and chorus while listening to Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation album. She felt that she had Leona Francisca in her head the whole time, drawing from her partner’s style of writing.

The pair later got together and worked on the melody and remainder of the song to the production by Bulgarian producer, Boyan.
