“Buddhahood” is quite possibly Anji’s most remixed song, with dozens of versions by various artists under different song titles floating around the internet. A number of them were released officially, as well. The lyrics are an adaptation of one of the Songs of Milarepa, a classic Tibetan Buddhist text, recorded initially in 2008 for the CC Asia Band, set to an instrumental by Snoblind, called “Crossing The Pond.” Because it was a Creative Commons project, the vocals were made available for reuse.

This 2013 version reuses the spoken word portion of the vocals, while all of the sung vocals are a completely new recording, set to brand new music which wasn’t inspired by any of the previous versions.
