In “BELIEVE ME,” Lil Uzi Vert reiterates to a woman to trust that their career will last long without her — not hesitant to admit they have a replacement.

The highly anticipated track was first previewed through Uzi’s Instagram story on April 14, 2017. It was originally expected to land on his then upcoming album Luv Is Rage 2, but ultimately didn’t make the cut.

After a few more previews, the song’s status went cold until mid-2021 when a fan in an Instagram group chat asked Uzi if they still had the song, to which they said yes.

“BELIEVE ME” released only on SoundCloud and omitted from streaming platforms likely due to the sampling of a song called “Sesame” made by a Bulgarian rock group in 1987.
