Say My Name

Say My Name

Tove Styrke

“Say My Name” is Tove Styrke’s first original material since the release of her 2015 album, Kiddo. The song is based around a riff played by producer Elof Loelv on a “crappy little red ukulele”, with electronic drum and bass samples helping to create a more minimal sound than her previous material.
Upon the release of the single, she claimed that it was important for her to constantly “reinvent” and “challenge” herself creatively.
Choosing “Say My Name” as her first new single was a “no-brainer”:

It was the first song me and Elof did together and I feel like it really raised the bar in every way. We wanted “Say My Name” to feel effortless and at the same time grab your attention. It usually takes us a long time to complete a song but in the end it’s so worth it.
