“Future Friends” is the 7th track on Superfruit’s debut EP Future Friends – Part One which was released June 30th through RCA Records

The song is about two people in a romantic relationship who promise each other that, even if the relationship won’t last, they can still be friends.
This can justly be compared to Superfruit’s own experience.

In their 2017 coffee table book (Strawberry), Mitch and Scott opened up about how they dated in high school and after breaking up managed to forge a strong friendship.

In an interview Scott Hoying stated:

“It’s honestly what Future Friends is about, because we’ve been through every single thing a friendship can go through. We’ve even had like a falling out, we’ve dated, we’ve been through it. And like, we’re still so close, so it’s proof that any relationship can be healed over time.”
