This demo of “Brave for You” is a stripped down version of the song, featuring only Romy’s voice and an acoustic guitar (which is unusual for the band). There are some minor changes in the song, including a verse added to the end of the chorus, but instrumentally it feels completely different. Romy has said that she is glad that Jamie took it to a more “celebratory” place in the final version- otherwise it would also be too difficult for her to play live.

The song is the first time Romy has written about her parents' deaths and it is addressed to them; she says that she will push herself out of her comfort zone, especially in terms of her musical career, to honor their memory.
