“‘A Little More Time’ develops beautifully from minimal, lush electronica into a more symphonic presence; a ruminating rhythm section combines well with Hawkins’ initial vocal nonchalance, with infectious effervescence peeking through around 00:50, when he admits “the more I try, the less I understand” over a brightening melodic development. It makes for an excellent hook each go-around.”

Cale Hawkins released two impressive tracks today, both a showcase of his engaging, richly developmental songwriting. Both tracks tread in a symphonic-tinged vein of electronica, with an arsenal somewhat reminiscent of Sufjan Stevens' The Age of Adz. The Brooklyn-based Hawkins makes these tracks distinctively his own though.
