“aawake at night” is about a personal, longing search for the truth about life, which keeps the narrator up at night (hence the title). It describes a constant search for something that’s missing in his life and a desire to fill this void. What will fill this void is open to interpretation for the listener, but frontman Josh Taylor refers to God as the answer, given his spiritual background.
