“LAST STARDUST” is featured as an insert song for Episode 8 of ufotable’s 2015 Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season. In the context of UBW’s storyline, the song represents the conflict between the protagonist, Shirou Emiya, and a character named Archer, on a very deep, personal level.

Despite not officially released as single, “LAST STARDUST” received quite a major attention from audiences. Listed as 9th track in Aimer’s 3rd album, DAWN, the song is a tie-in prelude to the 10th track “Brave Shine,” the opening theme song of the same anime. The similar format was previously used on Aimer’s 2nd studio album, MIDNIGHT SUN, in which the 9th track “RE:I AM” preludes the lyrically-connected 10th track “StarRingChild.” Both songs are featured as Mobile Suite Gundam Unicorn’s theme songs.
