One More Chance (Hip Hop Mix)

One More Chance (Hip Hop Mix)

The Notorious B.I.G.

Released alongside the hit remix version (known as “One More Chance/Stay With Me”), this version of “One More Chance” features a funkier hip-hop sound thanks to its use of the beat from Marley Marl & Craig G’s 1988 hip-hop classic “Droppin' Science (Hip-Hop Version)”

In addition to the new beat, this remix features a new chorus sung and rapped by Total. Biggie’s verses are identical to his verses on the “Stay With Me” version. It’s worth noting that both the “Hip-Hop Mix” and “Stay With Me” versions feature different beats and lyrics than the original “One More Chance,” which appeared on Biggie’s 1994 debut Ready To Die.

The distinctive guitar lick from Marley Marl’s “Droppin' Science” that’s sampled here was originally sampled from jazz saxophonist Lou Donaldson’s 1969 song “Who’s Making Love.”
