“Blue Light” is the tenth track from Kelela’s debut album Take Me Apart. It is the second single for the album and was one of the earliest tracks earmarked for the project. It deals with the shift from cautiously takings things slow, to finally letting your guard down and diving headfirst into a new relationship.

I wanted to talk about the moment when you abandon this (cautious) feeling. I feel like it’s a real experience that’s quite pervasive. Like: “you know what? F*ck it! I’m on my way”.
