“Alone” is the third single from Jessie Ware’s third album, Glasshouse. It reunites the British songstress with her frequent collaborator Kid Harpoon and marks the first collaboration between Ware and Australian songwriter Sarah Aarons.

“Alone” was inspired by Jessie Ware’s relationship with her husband since the birth of their daughter. The singer said this song is “about stealing time with your loved one, and longing for the simple declaration that they want the same”.

The idea of getting Ware and Aarons to collaborate came from Kid Harpoon himself who was determined for it to happen. In fact, when the trio finally found the time to get in the studio together, Harpoon’s wife was due to give birth at any moment (she actually did give birth a few hours after the session during which “Alone” was created).

A music video for the single was released on October 12, 2017. It was directed by Charlie Robbins and shot at the Eltham Palace in London.
