On “Coolin,” Tay-K boasts about his gang lifestyle. “Coolin” is a Crip term referring to relaxing or chilling. He also used the phrase later on 2018’s “Based Freestyle”:

I can’t fuck with niggas that be Bloods, bitch, I’m Coolin' (gang, bitch)
I can’t fuck with niggas but my Cuz, cause I’m Coolin' (gang)

Shortly after the song hit the internet via WORLDSTARHIPHOP, Tay-K’s management took to his Twitter to explain that the early version was not finalized, possibly implying the existence of a second verse:

THE VERSION OF COOLIN THAT WAS LEAKED TODAY IS NOT THE OFFICIAL VERSION, WE HAVE SOMETHING MAJOR IN STORE, MORE MUSIC COMING SOON STAY TUNED

According to HotNewHipHop.com, Tay-K’s gang affiliation stems from his mother being a Baby Insane Crip in the streets of Long Beach, California, and his father not being around to stop him from following the same path. Tay-K is known to wear blue Crip colors, as seen on the cover art for this song and his debut album #SantanaWorld.
