“Ain’t Nobody” was a #1 R&B song in the US in 1983, included on the band’s live album Stompin' At The Savoy. On the US Pop Chart it reached #22, and was a top ten hit in the UK.

Writer Hawk Wolinski ensured it would be the album’s lead single, by threatening to give the song to Michael Jackson for his Thriller album if Warner Bros. didn’t release it as the lead single.

The song became an instant classic and a signature tune for Chaka Khan. It has also been sampled and covered by numerous others including Kelly Price, Jaki Graham, Yo-Yo, LL Cool J, Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, and more.
