“So Emotional” is the third single from Whitney Houston’s sophomore album. It was written by Billy Steinberg & Tom Kelly and produced by Narada Michael Walden.

The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Dance Music\Club Play Songs chart in 1988. It also peaked at #5 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart and #8 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. It was certified Gold by the RIAA.

In the United Kingdom, it was remixed by Shep Pettibone. The remixed version peaked at #5 on the U.K. Singles chart and was certified Silver by the BPI.
