Almost Like Being In Love

Seth MacFarlane

“Almost Like Being In Love” is a song from the 1947 musical Brigadoon with music by Frederick Lowe and lyrics from Alan Jay Lerner.

In the musical, New Yorker’s Tommy and Jeff have found a magical village in the Scottish Highlands that only appears once every hundred years. With this song, Tommy is expressing his joy to be in the town and, more importantly, to have met Fiona – a woman who lives in the town.

In the original 1947 Broadway production of the musical, this song is performed by David Brooks and in the 1954 film version, it is performed by Gene Kelly.
