“7 Years In The Making” was written in 2009, around the time that Brand New Eyes was released. At this point in the band’s history, they were struggling with tensions between Hayley Williams (lead singer) and the Farro Brothers (who played guitar and drums). This becomes a leitmotif on this track.

The song was originally meant to be part of the setlist for Brand New Eyes, but was never released.
