In this remix of “MIC Drop,” BTS continues to express how their hard work made them famous and expand their collection of music awards, with some parts from the original song rewritten with English lyrics.

The term “mic drop” refers to the gesture of literally dropping a mic after a speech, implying the speaker has high self-confidence. According to BTS member RM, the song was inspired by former U.S. president Barack Obama doing the same gesture at the end of his speech at the 2016 White House correspondents' dinner. Him doing this gesture to signal the end of his presidency led to it growing viral on the Internet.

This remix is the first collaboration between BTS and Steve Aoki.
