A Million and One Questions (Remix)

JAY-Z

This hidden gem in the Hov discography is a DJ Premier remix of their 1997 collaboration, the intro track of Jay-Z’s second album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 – his first album release since the deaths of rap superstars 2Pac and his friend The Notorious B.I.G.

The track was given a physical release in February 1998 as a B-Side when the original was released to radio as the album’s fourth single.

The song gives listeners a glimpse into the pressures of fame that affected his early career, compared to the more recent Jay-Z who has accepted his role as the new King of New York rap. The song is introspective and lyrical in a way that only Jay-Z can do it.
