Lead singer Austin Anderson says that the song began as a demo with Ryan Beatty and Romil Hemnani on Brockhampton’s since-scrapped 2018 album, Puppy. He later revisited the song and showed it to Tyler, the Creator, a friend of his, who re-did the production into its final version.
