The Source continues the apathetic tone of previous songs on the record. The first verse showing the apathy the speaker has for living by sharing his morning routine. Yet he incessantly ask the audience what makes them feel so bad and why it makes them feel that way. The answer, the speaker suggests, is the source. The source can be interpreted as many different things, such as the human condition or life itself. In the end it’s left for the listener to decide.
