“Buttcheeks” is the 6 Dogs' first major label single since signing to Benny Blanco’s Mad Love label, a subsidiary of Interscope.
6 Dogs provides his signature melodic style, juxtaposing teenage angst and hip-hop’s conventional flexing, but this time in a slightly more mature way.
The growth is even shown in the cover art, which retains the marker drawing aesthetic of his earlier Soundcloud releases while juxtaposing it with a simple black and white portrait of the artist.
The song features atmospheric, trap-influenced production from Blanco, as well as label mate Cashmere Cat, who has produced for chart-topping artists.
Writing comes from Blanco, Cashmere Cat, 6 Dogs himself, and Romy Madley Croft, best known as one of the vocalists of British band the xx.
