“Another Star” is a lengthy latin disco song about heartbreak and the difficulties of getting over a break-up. It is the final song of the main body of Songs in the Key of Life – the next four songs come from the companion EP A Something’s Extra.

Released as a single in 1977, it reached #32 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song is sung from the perspective of a man who found his true love, his “star”, and though she broke his heart and may find “another star” who shines brighter than him, he is sure his heart won’t be satisfied with anyone besides her.
